Which graphics card to buy for gaming in 2024 for every budget
Nvidia products got only 3 out of 7 possible places. And Intel solutions did not find a place on the list at all. A material appeared on the popular PC Gamer portal, where experts collect the best video cards on the market in different price categories. First of all, experts recommend determining the "best overall card" when money is not an issue.
Perhaps everything is obvious here, because the GeForce RTX 4090 wins the unconditional victory. The flagship from NVIDIA is suitable for 4K games both in native resolution and with ray tracing. Its only drawback is the high price tag. The second on the list is the
nomination for the best AMD video card. Here the winner is the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, which is two (and sometimes more) times cheaper than the GeForce RTX 4090 and is also suitable for games in 4K resolution.
But without ray tracing. $600-$800 segment: GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super. Thanks to 16GB of VRAM, this card will remain relevant for 2K gaming for the next 3-4 years. $500-$600 segment: GeForce RTX 4070 Super. Ideal for gaming at 1440p native resolution and 4K with DLSS 3. $350-$500 segment: Radeon RX 7800 XT. It's a bit slower than the GeForce RTX 4070 Super, but the $100 price difference and 16GB of video memory make it attractive in its own segment.
$250-$350 segment: Radeon RX 6700 XT. Of particular interest is the 12GB of video memory, so you don't have to worry about lowering the graphics settings in demanding games. The Radeon RX 7600 has been recognized as the best budget graphics card of 2024. For little money, it does an excellent job of running games at 1080p, has 8GB of video memory, and outperforms more expensive Nvidia products in terms of energy efficiency.
A recent Steam survey showed that more than 77% of users equip their computers with Nvidia graphics cards, while AMD's share is only 15%. The most popular model is the RTX 3060, but the RTX 4060 is also breathing in the background. Almost everything about the high-end flagship Nvidia RTX 5090 is already known, and now it's in the video. The new video card is about the same size as the RTX 4090 and uses a single connector for power. This disproves the rumors that two 16-pin connectors are needed.
